Founded in 2018, the organization was born from shared experiences of navigating academic and emotional challenges without support fueling a passion to create lasting impact. Our flagship programs, including Twende Majuu Tukasome (academic mentorship), Tule Sote Initiative (school feeding), Beta Mentor Tutors (academic tutoring), Masomo Focus (educational advocacy), and Ajira Fresh (professional development), are designed to uplift students holistically. Josiah Muriuki is a first-generation scholar, multi-award-winning social entrepreneur, and dynamic leader dedicated to unlocking the potential of young Africans through education, mentorship, and sustainable development.
He is currently a Masters candidate at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and is a proud Mandela Rhodes Scholar and Mastercard Foundation Alumnus. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and an BSc (Honours) Food Science from University of Pretoria.
Josiah’s leadership spans out and wide where he has served as Chairperson of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Council at the University of Pretoria, sits on the Board of the Institute of Food Technologists Students Association (IFTSA), and leads the Epistles of Christ Fellowship under the University of Nairobi Christian Union Alumni.
He is the visionary behind Beta Mentor Africa, an award-winning youth-led initiative focused on structured mentorship, leadership growth, quality tutoring and access to global opportunities. Josiah also co-founded Tule Sote Initiative, addressing child hunger in rural Kenya, and Favour Giants Ltd, a pioneering agribusiness invested in rabbit farming for food security and job creation.
With over four years of mentorship experience, Josiah has empowered youth from different parts of Africa Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Eswatini, Ghana, Nigeria and the DRC among others through various platforms. He is a passionate speaker, community builder, and advocate for equitable access to opportunity.
