Fredrick Ojuanga

Frederick Ojuanga, a student leader at Kirinyaga University and outgoing president of the Equity Leaders Chapter, has been selected to join the prestigious Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025. Adding to this achievement, he will serve as Campus Director for Kirinyaga University during the four-month program.Fredericks journey into global leadership began through Beta Mentor Africas Twende Majuu Tukasome Program, where mentorship and peer interactions exposed him to opportunities beyond the classroom. A pivotal moment came during a youth conference co-hosted with Beta Mentor Africa, where discussions on global issues sparked his curiosity about fellowships.That day opened my eyes, Frederick recalls. I realized there were platforms out there where young leaders like us could actually step onto the global stage.Determined to seize the opportunity, Frederick applied to over fifteen fellowships between December 2024 and mid-2025. Many responses were rejections, but he never gave up. His perseverance paid off when he was accepted into the Millennium Fellowship 2025.Reflecting on this milestone, Frederick says: My dream as a leader has always been to leave a mark that outlives my time in office. Being part of this fellowship, and serving as Campus Director, means I get to bring others along on the journey.For youth in his community, his message is clear:Keep pushing no matter the challenges. Stay focused on the goal. Dont let distractors take you off course.
